Award Winning Conference and Events Venue to Host 2011 UK Corporate Games

imago, the award winning meeting and conference venue at Loughborough University, is celebrating after receiving yet another accolade as it prepares to host the 2011 UK Corporate Games. The bid was successfully made through a partnership between Loughborough University, Charnwood Borough Council and Leicestershire County Council.
The UK Corporate Games is Europe's largest corporate multi-sports festival and brings business' together to build employee confidence, loyalty and team spirit. The competition covers 23 different sports including volleyball, hockey, dragon boat racing and football. Becoming the host of the 2011 UK Corporate Games will further build on imago's reputation as the Midland's leading events venue and four star hotel, following its triple win at the 2009 East Midlands Tourism Enjoy England Excellence Awards.
Kay England, Chief Executive of imago at Burleigh Court and Holywell Park, said: "It's a great privilege for Loughborough University to be named the host of the 2011 UK Corporate Games and we hope that the high level of service we offer as standard across the whole of the campus will help the guests to get the most out of the Games.

Cllr David Parsons, leader of Leicestershire County Council, added: "These games will not only showcase the exemplar facilities at Loughborough University, they will also provide an opportunity for corporate leaders, from all of the Country, to see firsthand what a great place Charnwood, Leicestershire is to do business in."
Leader of Charnwood Borough Council, Mike Preston, commented: "Loughborough is renowned for its sporting excellence and its facilities and it seems fitting that the UK Corporate Games will be held here.
"We are looking forward to hosting what will be an exciting event and welcome the boost it will bring to the town."
Tim Garfield, Deputy Director, Sports Operations at Loughborough University, said: "Loughborough University is delighted to be hosting the UK Corporate Games in 2011. Loughborough is a perfect venue for these Games. Our world class sports facilities and award winning catering and residential experience will ensure competing teams enjoy a unique experience, utilising the same facilities that are being used to prepare our Olympic bound swimmers, athletes, and triathletes and staying in the same accommodation as the Japanese Olympic team who are partnering with Loughborough in there preparation for London 2012.
"Just one year before the UK hosts the Olympic Games the UK corporate Games participants simply won't be able to avoid getting caught up in the excitement and anticipation of participating in a large scale multisport event on a single site with such close connection to the big event the following year."

Teams from any business can enter the Games to compete in any one of the 23 sports on offer, building on company morale, team-building and health in the workplace as themes for involvement. The 2010 UK Corporate Games are taking place in Liverpool on 13th - 16th May.
