Academic Venue Show Website Goes Live
January 2010

The brand new Academic Venue Show website has gone live and visitors can now register online at www.academicvenueshow.co.uk to attend this free event which is being held on Wednesday 12 May at the Emirates Stadium in London.

The theme for 2010 is ‘bright ideas for your next event' and the show will feature over 40 exhibitors from top UK academic venues showcasing a wide range of facilities including accommodation for groups in a variety of city centre, rural and coastal locations.

Academic venues offer very competitive rates with an average Group B&B rate of £34 and a choice of bedrooms types to suit all budgets; from standard rooms to hotel style en suite facilities. Choose from single, twin and double rooms plus flats and apartments. There are thousands of rooms available during the summer vacation period across the UK. Exhibiting venue locations include London, Edinburgh, York and Durham and Oxford and there is the opportunity to stay at some unique venues including the Oxford Colleges and Durham Castle.

There will also be a captivating seminar programme and the keynote speaker for the event is Ruby Wax. Ruby completed an MSc in Psychotherapy and a course in Neuroscience at UCL, and now runs workshops on creating a more direct level of communication with colleagues. Her sharp brain, wittiness and humour help get her important messages across.

Other highlights include special offers and promotions from exhibitors, a host of bright ideas for your next event plus the chance to visit a venue with a 'wow' factor all of its own. Following a successful move in 2009, the show will once again be taking place at the stunning Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal Football Club. Complimentary tea and coffee will also be available.

The new show website contains details of the itinerary for the day including location and access information, visitor testimonials, plus a DVD and images of the 2009 show to give visitors a flavour of the event.

VENUEMASTERS Chief Executive, Terry Billingham, commented; "The event theme is ‘bright ideas for your next event' and we believe we've got a great line up of exhibitors to support this. Academic venues offer some great options to group travel organisers at very competitive rates and there's something to suit all tastes and budgets. We're also pleased to welcome Ruby Wax as our keynote speaker. She's been making quite a name for herself at industry events and it promises to be an entertaining session."
