Conference Aston Launches 'We Love Birmingham' at Group Travel Show
August 2010

Conference Aston will be giving visitors at the Group Travel Show at the NEC hundreds of reasons to love Birmingham, with the launch of a new campaign.

The leading conference centre and hotel, situated at the heart of Birmingham, is launching its own guide to Birmingham at the show on 22/23 September.

The guide, which will be regularly updated throughout the year is packed full of recommendations from Conference Aston's own staff on the best places to eat, drink, visit and enjoy a night out in the UK's second city.

It forms part of the ‘We Love Birmingham' campaign, which has been launched by Conference Aston to celebrate the city for both visitors and people on the doorstep in the West Midlands.

"Birmingham is a fantastic, diverse, exciting city to be in and all our staff are incredibly enthusiastic about the attractions on our doorstep and further afield," said Conference Aston marketing manager Paul Bunce.

"The team regularly makes recommendations to guests staying in our hotel, based on years of experience visiting the city, so we thought it would be a great opportunity to bring these together into a handy booklet available to all our guests.

"And by launching it at the Group Travel Show, we hope to raise people's awareness of the hidden gems in Birmingham and give them a new perspective on the city."
The ‘We Love Birmingham' campaign is also being aimed at people from the West Midlands, who may be missing out on the great restaurants, bars, theatres and visitor attractions just minutes away.

"Birmingham is packed full of day visitors travelling from throughout the West Midlands and we want them to extend their stay, enjoy the fantastic facilities the city has to offer and enjoy a weekend break staying in one of the centre's fantastic hotels," said Paul.

"So we will be distributing the guide to the Birmingham visitors who use our conference and on site facilities and we are also putting together a series of exclusive weekend break deals in partnership with the fantastic venues recommended by our staff."

Conference Aston welcomes more than 54,000 people a year to Birmingham for training, residential conferences, for awards dinners and banqueting and to stay in its high quality hotel facilities and on site campus accommodation.

It sits at the heart of Aston University, which is a long established research-led university known for its world-class teaching quality and strong links to industry, government and commerce.
