Location and Accessibility

The University's Peel Park Campus is situated on the banks of the River Irwell and is located just over a mile from Manchester's cosmopolitan city centre. Its location, close to an extensive network of roads and railways, makes it ideal for travel from all parts of the country.

Manchester International Airport is less than 15 miles from the campus with a direct rail link to Salford Crescent Railway Station. This is a main line station on the University campus only 3 minutes from Manchester City Centre.

We are ideally located for motorway access and less than an hour's drive to Cheshire, Derbyshire, North Wales and the Lancashire coast.

Group Accommodation (bedrooms for groups of 10 or more)

The University of Salford is located just outside the cosmopolitan centre of Manchester with its wide range of shops, vibrant night life and world class football stadia. The newly opened MediaCity, which sees the move of BBC departments to the region, also makes Salford a popular destination with national and international visitors.

Accommodation is provided, during the University's summer vacation period, in and around the small campus which centres around the leafy Peel Park.

A variety of accomodation is available that will suit most tastes and budgets from single study en-suite bedrooms, small flats, to specially adapted rooms for guests with additional requirements. Rooms are available on a 'room only' basis with the option of self catering or arrangements can be made to cater for full board.

Castle Irwell Student Village, with it's on-site football pitches, is perfect for large sporting/team groups as it has 1000 single student bedrooms available on a self catering basis.

The sports facilites include a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, gymnasium, climbing room and football pitches. These are all available, with prior arrangement, for the use of residential guests.
